Samantha Ruth Prabhu Opens Up About Struggles and Separation in Recent Health Podcast

Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who recently returned to work after battling myositis, has delved into her challenging experiences, including her separation from Naga Chaitanya, in her first health podcast. Although she did not explicitly mention her ex-husband, Samantha described the year preceding her myositis diagnosis as “extremely difficult.”

Samantha had announced her break from acting after wrapping up the shoot for Citadel India in July 2023.

Recalling a specific moment from that tumultuous period, Samantha shared, “I remember the day my friend/partner/manager Himank and I were returning from Mumbai in June two years ago. I told him that finally, I feel calm. It was the first time in a long while that I felt relaxed, calm, and able to breathe. I thought I could focus on my work and be the best at it. Unfortunately, I woke up with this condition.”

Samantha expressed her motivation for starting the podcast, citing her harrowing experience with an autoimmune condition and the lifelong nature of such conditions. She emphasized the importance of raising awareness to ensure people prioritize their health.

The actress, known for her relationship with Naga Chaitanya, dated him for several years before their marriage in 2017. However, they announced their separation in October 2021 after four years of marriage, urging fans to respect their privacy as they moved on.

Taking a break from acting after completing the shoot for Citadel India in July 2023, Samantha announced her hiatus on Instagram, prioritizing her health. She expressed gratitude to the Citadel team and hinted at a return, stating, “Thank you for the role of a lifetime, until you write me the next one.”

Samantha’s last on-screen appearance was in the romantic drama “Kushi,” alongside Vijay Deverakonda. Her upcoming project includes the Indian version of Citadel, featuring Varun Dhawan and directed by Raj and DK.
